The Dept. of Economics aims to encourage students majoring in economics to grow as economists suitable for industrial and information society.
Students can learn fundamental economic theories such as micro and macroeconomics, monetary and financial economics, econometrics, and international economics. This course also offers a variety of courses in applied economics, such as industrial organization theory, e-commerce, and web programming. This curriculum has been continually revised and supplemented to reflect the paradigm shift surrounding the economic environment for students’ careers after graduation.
We are providing a variety of scholarships, so students are encouraged to achieve. They can spend more time on campus through various academic activities. Also, there are internship opportunities through industry-university cooperation with the Bank of Korea, other banks, and securities companies. Finally, we try to provide opportunities to strengthen friendship and connections among professors, graduates, and students through various events where professors, students, and graduates participate together.
For students' future careers, we support preparing for various certifications and examinations during the enrollment such as public administration, foreign affairs, national public official, certified public accountant, electronic commerce manager, tax accountant, appraiser, customs broker, certified labor consultant, futures trader, securities analyst, financial asset manager, analyst, and investment counselor.
After obtaining the bachelor's degree, students can work in government agencies and public corporations, engage in research, or work in financial institutions such as banks, securities companies, insurance companies, or consulting services. They can also continue their studies in graduate schools.
